Brian Varsey grew up on the east side of Cleveland, excelling in multiple sports before playing college golf at Baldwin-Wallace University, where he earned First Team All–Ohio Athletic Conference honors. In 2012, he was inducted into the Perry High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Since age fifteen, Brian has worked at premier private clubs nationwide, including Sankaty Head, Windsor, Sea Island, The Country Club in Cleveland, and seven seasons as Director of Instruction at Canterbury Golf Club. He later served six years as Head Teaching Professional at the Ocean Reef Club. He currently teaches at Essex Fells Country Club (NJ) in the summer and Palm Beach Par 3 (FL) in the winter.

A longtime understudy of Hall of Fame instructor Bob Toski, Brian has assisted in coaching players such as Birdie Kim, Ken Duke, Kenny Perry, and Tom Kite. He has helped guid PGA Professional Brian Gaffney, including at the 2015 PGA Championship—where Gaffney made the cut as Low PGA Club Professional—and continuing through his 2024 U.S. Senior Open appearance and 2025 NJPGA Senior Player of the Year season.

Brian’s coaching background includes roles at the University of Oklahoma and Cleveland State University. His approach is shaped by working alongside many leading instructors, and he remains committed to ongoing professional development.

A Class A PGA Member, Brian holds certifications with AimPoint, TPI, Vision54, Smart2Move, TrackMan, and more. He teaches with TrackMan 4, S2M 3D Force Plates, and SAM PuttLab.

His awards include 2014 South Florida PGA Southern Chapter Teacher of the Year, Golf Magazine Teachrs to Watch 2026-27, Golf Digest Best Teachers in Your State 2026–27, and GRAA Top 100 Growth of the Game Instructor.

As a player, Brian has won multiple PGA Section events and qualified for the 2025 Senior PGA Championship at Congressional Country Club.
